Hire Ventanazul for your next Internet project

In a hurry? take a look at the services list.

Hi, I'm Alexis Bellido, a guy who has spent the last decade working online and writing about it (really, and the book is called Telework People).

Ventanazul LLC is small web agency: just me.

In some cases I collaborate with a bunch of highly skilled and experienced friends to bring your Internet projects alive.

And even if I live and work from home, in a nice little sunny town called Chosica (more than 30 kilometers from Lima, Peru), I've worked in projects all over the world.

The guys I work with come from many different countries and cultures, some of them speak quite strange languages, like geekish and orcish.

The services

I'm quite curious, kinda infomaniac mixed with a ten-year old kid, and love to explore new ventures in each project I take. Of course, focus is needed to do things right but the lines between knowledge, fun and business are so blurry that I tend to forget about them quite often.

This is just an incomplete list of some of the services Ventanazul can offer you and your organization, please ask if you don't see those other wonderful things you have in mind:

  • Online business consulting, from a quick but quite informative chat to brainstorming and ready to build project plans. You'll end up with a clear and easy to follow roadmap document that you can hand to any smart fellow to take the world in your hands, or at least your little part of it.
  • User experience consulting: usability, accesibility and information architecture. Everything you need to make your users happy, oh, and allow them to use your stuff too.
  • Graphics, interface and web design. The things we all use to click on while saying ”wow!”.
  • Professional blogging, content management and copywriting in both English and Spanish, because somebody has to do it and yes, it's that important to write and write well.
  • Internet marketing: advertising consulting, search engine optimization (SEO), management and design of pay per click campaigns (PPC) and everything you need to get your site in front of the right audience.
  • Web programming: client-side and server-side, this is the part where all those cryptic three-letter names go. Your nearest geek already knows what it is, even if she can't explain it (a gal geek friend uh?, you little demon!). This is basically what makes the Web work.
  • Content management systems and Drupal consulting, training and programming. I love Drupal so much that I've written a boogeek about it (Spanish for now, English coming soon) and contributed a couple of modules to the community.
  • Virtual communities consulting, management and creation: discussion forums and social networking. It's all about the people, but you already knew that, didn't you?
  • Second Life business consulting. Call me a wacko but I do believe there's a great future in world and if you don't get it I'll be happy to explain (actually not me, but a bearded dude named Mento Gamba who happens to charge in L$).
  • Virtual stores, electronic commerce and online payment processing consulting and development, for those times when you're feeling in a Jeff Bezos' mood.
  • Training seminars, workshops and conference keynotes on teleworking, web development, social networking, content creation, metaverses, open source and electronic commerce. And with the proper audience I could even talk about the meaning of life, the singularity and the coming adventures of Teo Bato, but right, who cares about that!

Well, and how much for it?

If you are looking for a consultant or developer who can help you to create something good, quick and cheap (all at the same time) you'll need to look somewhere else. A good work is not cheap and you have to consider mine as a very important investment.

Now, if you really care about your project you'll see that I'm quite fair when talking about money and work. I want to be your sidekick, help you in getting your project out there, collect some gold (fun, good friends, happy faces, cult followers or whatever makes your day) and make the world a better place.

Usually, consulting and development services start at US$ 100 per hour. You may be wondering ”and how many hours would you take to...”, hold on there tiger! I don't know yet, you'll need to tell me everything about your project first.

And by everything I mean all the relevant and specific details about what you need and why, timeframes, your audience, products or services, sites or online applications you like, budget (you have one in mind of course, you need to) and in some cases even your favorite flick and band (as of today mine are The Godfather and Sigur Ros).

Please don't get me wrong, I love meeting people online but can't reply to all the messages I get asking me ”how much for building me something like that Yahoo thing?”. Be specific, concise and direct please.

If you think that written words are too cold, terribly unhuman or they take you too much time to craft, then you may want to book a phone or VoIP conversation with me, that would be a paid service of course.

If you can't clearly describe in writing what your project is about maybe you need some more time to think. Do that and come back when you're ready. Don't worry, I won't go anywhere.

Training and keynotes are handled on a case by case basis, sometimes it may be free of charge (provided you pay for my food, beer, travel, adventures, fun and food again) and sometimes it could cost a good chunk of your hard-earned moolah. As usual, contact me and I'll see what can and can't be done.

Show me the work!

I'm still working on that cool looking portfolio (actually I'm working in a redesign for the whole site. Damn clients!, they take most of my time) but here's a small sample of a few projects:

I'm not famous, or intend to be, but have been interviewed in a few sites and was one of the founders of Asociación Nacional de Webmasters Perú, a non for profit organization of professionals web developers where we meet to eat pizza, share ideas about our work and organize events to educate the public on the potential of online projects.

I've also written many online articles on several topics and published my own books: Telework People, Teletrabajo Hoy and Drupal en 15 gotas. Some people have even read them!

Need more references? Larry and Sergey will be happy to help, just Google me or Ventanazul.

Something else? perhaps, contact me and let's find out.
